Race Swami’s purpose is to introduce competitive swimming to underrepresented youth from Salt Lake County. We seek to provide a healthy and stimulating environment in which these young athletes can grow and compete. We emphasize excellence in academics as well as athletics and supports swimmers and parents in the achievement of high academic standards.
Race Swami is a member club of USA Swimming and competes in meets held under the sanctions of Utah Swimming, the local affiliate. The team is divided into five training groups: Rising Swami I (Green, Gold), Rising Swami II, Mavericks, Junior Swami, and Kamiwaza. An entry-level group -- Neighborhood House -- encompasses an after-school partnership program with the Neighborhood House daycare center located in Poplar Grove. It's a learn-to-swim program geared towards youngsters who wish to learn basic water safety skills and provide them the chance to join a swim team if that's their passion.
Race Swami is a year-round program and welcomes all prospective new athletes to the program any time of year. For more information on how to join, please call Minerva at (801) 618-9807 or fill out our contact form.

Monthly Registration Fees
- Kaizen — $70
- Kairos— $80
- Mavericks — $85
- Junior Swami + Kamiwaza — $100
Race Swami's monthly membership dues are already considered very low by USA Swimming standards. However, for many of our families the dues are still considerably high, so we offer scholarship opportunities which allow them to join or stay with our program.
At this time, more than 80% of our kids receive financial assistance through scholarships given by Race Swami which cover annual fees, monthly dues, and/or swim meet fees. Race Swami implements a screening process for qualification of scholarships. Families who receive free or reduced lunch (currently $21,756 annual income for a family of four) are eligible for a full or partial subsidy, depending on need and situation.
Race Swami also considers case-by-case situations in the event a family may not qualify for free or reduced lunch but are still in obvious need of assistance. All families are asked to pay about $10 per child per month and no one has been turned away since our inception in January 2011.
