Claire Jackson’s westside roots run deep! Claire grew up in the heart of West Valley City where she competed for the West Valley Aquatics her entire Age Group swimming career. She began swimming as a ripe 6 year old and quickly fell in love with the sport. Claire graduated from Hunter High School and continued her swimming career at the University of Utah, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree. Aside from serving as Head Coach for Race Swami, she is currently working on another degree as well as serving as a Behavioral Health Assistant at an elementary school located in West Valley City.
Claire has an affinity for teaching and coaching all ages of Swamis — especially the 12 and Under swimmers, because it's the same age that she fell in love with swimming. More than anything, Claire enjoys helping athletes develop proper technique foundations that will help them succeed in the sport and open doors to possibilities, as well as make them feel more confident and enjoy their triumphs to the fullest. Claire shares a belief in the mission of Race Swami — the ideal of inclusion and opportunity for all.
Claire has frequently attended the annual Napa Valley Coaches Clinic hosted by Pacific Swimming, as well as being selected by USA Swimming to attend the 2022 Women's Leadership Summit in Colorado Springs. In 2024, Claire was recognized as a recipient of ASCA’s (American Swimming Coaches Association) “30 Under 30” coaches, a national honor given to a select few “up and coming” swim coaches under the age of 30. We are so pleased to have Claire leading the way as the Race Swami program moves well into its second decade of serving west side children!
