Coach Russ Lauber has been on the pool deck most of his life. Swimming for KYAT/Kearns High School, then the University of Utah, he started his coaching career at the Ute Swim School, then moved on to found Cottonwood Heights Aquatics/Brighton High School swimming programs, where he spent most of his career teaching/coaching. A graduate degree in Psychology of Children in Sports has shaped his life-long philosophy of the value of a well-developed program for nurturing growth and maturation not only in physical abilities, but emotional and thinking skills, as well. Which has brought him to Race Swami: long an admirer of Race Swami and their healthy swimmer-oriented approach, it wasn’t long before he decided to join Coach Matt and the Swami family on deck applying many years of service once more.
